onald Davis Wells “Ron”, 79, a resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Lusby, MD, passed away suddenly on June 13, 2026. Ron was born on March 15, 1947, in Warrenton, VA to the late James and Doris Wells. In his younger years, Ron worked for Marriott Corporation. In 1982, he married Barbara and they operated Southern Maryland Marine, a boat dealership, together. After selling the dealership, they owned a travel agency for many years and enjoyed all the travel perks that came with it. Upon retiring from the travel business, Ron spent his later years working in commercial real estate. A faithful Catholic, Ron was a member of the Catholic church for over 43 years. He was also a true outdoorsman and loved boating, fishing and hunting. He had a lifelong love of the sea and could often be found on his boat, the ‘Ron’devous. A licensed captain, Ron loved offshore deep-sea fishing and competed in blue marlin tournaments. In his later years, he traded boating for the RV life and loved traveling around the country in his RV with Barbara. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Barbara Wells; his children, Barry Wells, Robyn Wells Reed, Angela Watts and Toni Dotterweich; and his sisters, Shirley Wilson and Peggy Mauro. Also survived by his granddaughters, Katy Wilson, Emily Dreesen, Shannyn Levitz, Brooke Wells, Brittany Wells, Sydney Watts, Samantha Watts, Olive Dotterweich, and 7 great-grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held following Mass at 12:30 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037, with a catered reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Road, Annapolis, MD 21403, or online at SPCA of Anne Arundel County
